Summary
This article talks about the relationship between reading proficiency, strategic competence, and reading comprehension test performance of 506 postgraduate students who took a reading comprehension test. The researchers’ found that the participants’ test performances were having a positive relationship with the meta-cognitive [strategy] awareness and their reading proficiency. The researchers gave some suggestions that for the teachers, they have to develop the learning instruction in order to improve the students’ reading comprehension and for the curriculum planners, they should design appropriate instructional materials and adapt any effective teaching approaches to improve reading comprehension.

Application
Teachers should have a teacher-researcher soul so that they can be more aware of the students performances. In this case, teachers must give the students the purpose of their reading and give them explanation of the way strategies done in order to help them improve their reading comprehension and reading proficiency.
