Summary
In this article, Apsari did some literature reviews and an experimental research to find out whether the use of authentic material can improve students' reading comprehension or not. The literature reviews' result is that teaching students with authentic materials may improve their motivation by selecting relevant and interesting materials. Authentic materials may be more interesting because it reflects the real world contexts.
The experimental research were done in STKIP Siliwangi Bandung from English department in year 2010/2011. The result of the experimental research is that the effect of using authentic materials was small and not significant. It means that the students reading comprehension depends on the other factors like their self-conditions or the class conditions. However, teaching students using authentic materials is still recommended to change a thing in the class.

Application
Teaching with authentic materials is useful; however, the teaching and learning activity also affected by the students' motivation which is affecting the whole classroom's atmosphere.
